She has received numerous prizes and awards for her work. In 2007 LeAnne and her family moved to Elkin, North Carolina from South Florida, where she was a member of the Ocean Waves Quilting Guild. She has studied with other noted quilters including Hollis Chatlain (named one of the top 100 quilters of the 20th Century), Ricky Tims, Mary Jane “Rusty” Miller, Cindy Brick, Libby Lehman, Cynthia Porter and Billie Lauder. LeAnne is a member of both East Bend Quilters and Foothill Quilters. She is currently conducting an apprentice program through the Yadkin Valley Craft Guild, instructing beginning quilters. She teaches Beginning Sewing as an after school program for Elementary School students. She is also teaching beginning sewing to adults. She heads the Save the Reeves Theater Quilting Committee. LeAnne is a member of F.A.I.R. (Foothills Artists In Residence) and also serves on the Board of Directors for the Foothills Art Council.
